This protects the privacy of whoever you are communicating with, hiding it from the SimpleX platform servers and any observers.

- complete protection against spam and abuse: since you have no handle on the SimpleX platform, you cannot be contacted unless you share a unique invite link or an optional temporary user address.

- full ownership, control and security of your data: SimpleX stores all user data on client devices, messages are only temporarily kept on SimpleX relay servers until received.

- peer-to-peer network with decentralized proxy: you can use SimpleX Chat through your own relay servers and still communicate with people using pre-configured relay servers or any other SimpleX relay servers.

You can connect with anyone you know via a link or scan the QR code (on video call or in person) and start messaging instantly - no emails, phone numbers or passwords required.

Your profile and contacts are only stored in the app on your device - relay servers do not have access to this information.

All messages are end-to-end encrypted using the open source double ratchet protocol; Messages are delivered through relay servers using the open source SimpleX Messaging Protocol.
